Level 2

I can:

  • Use cycle mode to playback sections repeatedly

  • Locate and manipulate Snap to Grid settings

  • Identify all tools in the dropdown. I.e., Pointer scissors, fade, etc.

  • Use Flextime to fit audio regions into measures or create interesting audio FX - simple exploration for now.

  • Change Tempo of your song with Global tracks window automation

  • Use the Automation tool

  • Import external Audio into project

  • Use MIDI LOOPS (Green)

    • Piano roll functions

    • Midi Draw

    • Quantize – time and pitch in MIDI window

    • Alter Patch or change Synthesizer

- In my quick generic song, I first found a cool sounding chord progression that laid the base for my track

- I then found a drum machine that would work well, to provide the beat, almost giving it a trap sound to it.

- I added a fuzzy bass synth on the bottom to mimic a fuzzed out bass

- Finally I added a lead to give it melody and an appreciated synth sample on the bottom that would be considered difficult to do with a midi keyboard and had it fade out

Drum Machine Program

- Here I am showing the ability to add drum loops and a fill transition between the two drum sample loops.

Drum Machine Bit

- This is the drum 808 online machine

This drum machine is a prolific amongst most drum machines of the 80's

- the drum machine its self has 16 steps, which subdivides into 4, 16th note steps or 8, 8th note steps

- This step was to show the ability to use the session drummer

- The session drummer in finale has the ability to add to the track and compliment it and adjust based on what is being played

- This can be adjusted by the use of parameters and sliders at the bottom. There is also the ability to change drummers, sounds, and other stuff
